The Maths extra lessons that we offer at Kip McGrath Durbanville cover the complete curriculum that learners are taught in school. Our structured, remedial learning programmes cover everything from basic mathematics to core problem solving skills for concepts like algebra and trigonometry. It is our aim to help learners understand and learn basic and new concepts so that they can improve their maths in school.
If you think that your child needs help with Maths, why not bring him/her in for a free assessment? Doing so will allow us to test objectively whether your child is in fact struggling with maths, and to determine exactly where the learning gaps are. Hereafter, we can structure a unique learning programme that consists of everything that your child needs to reach his/her full learning potential.
Learners are divided into small groups, each assigned its own Math tutor. Our tutoring sessions are conducted face-to-face and we often make use of computer-based learning programmes to stimulate learners’ interest. Tutoring sessions are 80 minutes for primary school learners, and 60 minutes for high school learners. Homework activities are usually given at the end of a session, thereby encouraging learners to revise what they learned.
Depending on your child’s specific needs, a tailored maths learning programme may include the following activities:
For learners that have mastered basic math and want to explore more challenging options, we also offer advanced math courses. Participating in these will put your child ahead of his/her age group, thereby improving their academic abilities.
If you are looking for a professional math tutor that can help your child understand and succeed in maths, be sure to get in touch with our team at Kip McGrath Durbanville.
